This Week in Black History Month

Ladies and Gentleman,

Gear up and get ready for more Black History Celebrations!

TODAY at 5 pm, join Dr. John Jackson, Dean of the School of Social Policy and Practice, to discuss his innovative interdisciplinary work here at Penn and how he encourages his students to follow suit. The event will take place at GIC at 3708 Chestnut St. Food will is provided courtesy of Hummus Grill.

BGAPSA has partnered with the LAGAPSA, PAAGSA, LAMDA, BGWA and CSSAP to present to you ALL ACCESS. This event is free to Penn Students, but a suggested donation of $5 or Professional Clothing Donation is strongly encouraged to benefit the Pennsylvania Prison Society. It all starts this Thursday (2/11) at 7 pm at the Arch Building on 36th and Locust. Be sure to bring your PennCard and ID (21 and up).

THIS FRIDAY, we have the Black History Month Community Showcase: #BlackLivesMatter. Join us for this dynamic event inspired by the activists and advocates and everyday people striving to create a more just and equal world. This event is free and open to the public and Philadelphia community. Music, poetry, and dance will fill the room as we celebrate Black history and those making history.

Meet us at the Penn Museum’s Harrison Auditorium at 3260 South St.

Doors open at 6:30pm. Event starts at 7pm

* Heads up, BGAPSA Members! Our next General Body meeting is Tuesday, February 16 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm in Griski Room (311, Houston Hall on 34th and Spruce.*
